Liverpool’s lack of transfer business has been a big frustration for supporters this summer.
One player they have added is young talent Harvey Elliott.
Elliott is just 16 and signed from Fulham, after becoming the Premier League’s youngest ever player.
Last night Liverpool handed Elliott an appearance, against Lyon in a friendly.
The teenager seized his chance in a 3-1 victory after coming on in the 63rd minute.
Elliott looked at ease alongside Liverpool’s superstars, playing against one of France’s top teams.
His performance gave a hint that Elliott could be breaking into Liverpool’s first team sooner rather than later.
The Reds have no need to rush him, but if Elliott continues to look lively, it will be hard for Jurgen Klopp to hold him back and restrict him to solely under-23 football.
Perhaps Liverpool have signed a game changing talent after all this summer, even if Elliott’s true talent is only seen in two to three years time.
