A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to reports from the Daily Mirror this week which suggested that Harry Wilson is ready to leave Anfield this summer.

Despite Derby’s play-off final agony, Wilson will be able to reflect upon this past season as being a hugely successful one in his career. He finished as the Rams’ top goalscorer with 16 strikes in the Championship.

With Liverpool in such a fantastic position under Jurgen Klopp, there were always going to be questions asked about his future this summer. He arguably could not have done much more to stake a claim for a chance at Anfield, but it is still looking to be an incredibly tough task for Wilson to force his way into the side.

The Mirror reports that he has decided that he wants to leave with a long queue of admirers forming. Newcastle United and Southampton are amongst the Premier League sides keen on signing the 22-year-old, but there are also clubs in La Liga and the Bundesliga interested in Wilson. The Daily Mail recently suggested that he would cost £25 million if he left this summer.

It is telling that most of the comments from Liverpool fans on social media do not express much disappointment that Wilson may be leaving, but they do suggest that the Reds do not simply cut all ties with the youngster.

Several supporters have suggested that Liverpool should let Wilson go, but should make sure to include a buy back clause in the deal in case the attacking midfielder does go on to realise his full potential elsewhere.
