Liverpool fans on Twitter have ripped into Georginio Wijnaldum on Twitter.

The Reds came from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday, with Sadio Mane equalising on 49 minutes, before the ever-reliable Mo Salah grabbed an 85th-minute winner.

It was a game in which Wijnaldum and midfield partner Jordan Henderson struggled to assert themselves, with the Dutchman making way for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain midway through the second period.

The former Newcastle United ace was something of a passenger it has to be said, clocking 36 touches in total – only two more than goalkeeper Loris Karius – and Liverpool supporters have slated him on Twitter.

Wijnaldum isn’t a bad player, but Oxlade-Chamberlain clearly offers more in an attacking sense and maybe manager Jurgen Klopp will bench the Netherlands international – a £23 million signing in 2016 – for the former Arsenal man when Manchester City visit Anfield in midweek for a Champions League quarter-final.
