An impressive display from Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has sparked debate among fans.

Wijnaldum produced a lively attacking display to help the Dutch saunter to victory over Belarus.

The Liverpool ace scored in the first half after a Memphis Depay assist and then won a penalty after the break.

It was an attacking side of his game which is not shown enough at Liverpool.

This season Wijnaldum has only scored two goals for Liverpool in 28 Premier League games.

He has three in his last four for the Netherlands.

Some Liverpool fans are of the view that manager Jurgen Klopp is the one holding him back.

Wijnaldum’s performance has stoked debate that he is being utilised wrongly by Klopp and needs to play in an advanced role.

Of course, it was ‘only’ Belarus, but Wijnaldum is capable of more for his club, scoring 11 times in his only season at Newcastle and 16 times the year prior with PSV Eindhoven.
