And it’s easy to forget that Wijnaldum made his name in an attacking role.
Jurgen Klopp’s recent conversion of Wijnaldum to a more deep lying midfielder has meant the Dutchman has not been needed to showcase his attacking talents as regularly.
At least as a temporary solution, Wijnaldum’s versatility could be key, and save the Reds splashing out in the transfer market.
