Gary Lineker makes no apology for celebrating goals scored against Liverpool.

BT Sport host Gary Lineker has responded to criticism over the way he celebrated Lionel Messi’s goal against Liverpool.

Lineker was seen on video cheering along with Rio Ferdinand, when Messi scored Barcelona’s third goal against the Reds.

This upset Liverpool supporters, who felt Lineker should be impartial.

Lineker said he sympathised, but was celebrating Lionel Messi’s greatness, and had no intention of apologising.

Liverpool face a big uphill task in order to turn around their deficit.

The 3-0 loss was harsh, with Liverpool only a goal down until Messi’s late brace.

Messi’s second was his 600th goal for Barcelona, a truly incredible feat.
