Liverpool fans mocked midfielder Emre Can after his unhappy Champions League performance for Juventus.
Can walked out on Liverpool last summer for a new start at Juventus on a free transfer, despite being offered the chance to stay at Anfield.
Last night Can started Juventus’ Champions League game at Atletico Madrid on the bench, as he has done frequently this season.
Can came on in the 73rd minute for Miralem Pjanic with the game poised at 0-0.
Five minutes later Juventus conceded, and went on to lose 2-0.
Can had no positive effect on the game from the Serie A side’s perspective, and touched the ball just 19 times, committing one foul.
Juventus must produce a huge turnaround against Atletico in the second leg.
With goals needed, it’s unlikely Can will be in the starting line up.
Liverpool fans relished in his uncomfortable evening.
