Liverpool cruised through to the semi-final of the Champions League, but Divock Origi did not impress some of the supporters on social media.

Several Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Divock Origi’s performance during the second-leg of the Reds’ Champions League quarter-final tie with Porto on Wednesday as the Reds booked their spot in the last four of the competition.

A 2-0 win at Anfield last week left Jurgen Klopp’s side with one foot in the semi-final. But the Liverpool boss would have still been wary of complacency against a Porto side that had won five of their six group games.

However, it did prove to be a comfortable night for the Premier League title contenders. Sadio Mane and Mo Salah scored either side of the break to put Liverpool 4-0 up overall, before Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk put the exclamation point on the win after the Reds had conceded.

The game saw Origi handed a rare start. But the Belgian did not manage to take his opportunity, with plenty of the supporters on social media criticising his performance after the 6-1 aggregate win.

Origi showed plenty of effort and determination. However, he did not register a single shot while out on the pitch, and the fans noticed a real difference once Firmino replaced the 24-year-old at the break.

The striker – who cost £10 million in 2014 (via BBC Sport) – was at the centre of one of the most incredible moments of the season for the Reds as he scored the stoppage-time winner in the Merseyside derby. But the supporters appear to be convinced that that is as good as it will get for Origi, and plenty have suggested that he should be moved on in the summer.
