Jones scored as Liverpool beat Southampton 4-2, with Rhian Brewster scoring the opener.
Jones netted Liverpool’s second, and appeared to thrive wearing the club’s captain’s armband.
Pedro Chirivella and Luis Longstaff completed Liverpool’s comfortable victory.
It was an ideal way to bounce back after the under-23s were defeated 3-0 by Chelsea a week ago, with first team player Michy Batshuayi scoring twice.

Jones signed a new contract at Liverpool earlier this month.
He told the club website he wants to go on and wear the armband for the first team.
Just getting into the team is his first challenge, but performances like last night will help him out.
