Conor Coady performed heroics at Wolves last season after being converted from midfield to centre-back.
Despite this, there were legitimate concerns over whether he would be able to carry his strong form into the Premier League after Wolves won promotion.
Coady proved he can cut it, with a tremendous display for Wolves against Manchester City at the weekend, blunting Sergio Aguero and helping to secure a 1-1 draw.
Coady was sold by Liverpool in 2014 where he joined Huddersfield Town and moved to Wolves a year later.
At the weekend, Reds fans were delighted to see their former academy star and under-21 captain thriving in the Premier League, and even do their club a favour by helping to take points off Manchester City.
Coady was booked for his efforts, but he won’t mind, having contributed to Wolves’ defence by making six clearances.
An ever present this season alongside Willy Boly, Coady and Wolves are still looking for their first clean sheet but to only concede one against Manchester City required a strong effort.
