Liverpool fans were just trying to work out how to deal with Zeljko Buvac’s exit from the club when a new twist was added to the mix.

Bosnian news outlet Pravda PL reported yesterday that Buvac is being lined up by Arsenal as a replacement for Arsene Wenger.

Buvac has been Jurgen Klopp’s right hand man at three clubs spanning more than a decade and reports of his departure came out of nowhere.

Arsenal are still trying to work out how to replace outgoing boss Arsene Wenger and bookies slashed their odds on Buvac after the reports emerged.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was quizzed about Buvac as his press conference yesterday, Teamtalk reported, and sternly rebuffed questions telling reporters the subject was not up for discussion.

SkySports had earlier reported that Buvac had left for personal reasons and Liverpool were still hopeful he would return to the club.

Referred to by Klopp as ‘the brain’, Buvac would make for an intriguing appointment by Arsenal and a brave one.

The move would be fascinating even setting aside the fact he would be competing with Liverpool.
