Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a target for England.

The dust has barely settled since Liverpool chose to part company with manager Brendan Rodgers, but the 42-year-old is already being linked with moves elsewhere.

The Reds are looking for a new manager having ended the Rodgers era on Sunday evening, following a 1-1 draw against Merseyside rivals Everton.

Now though, Rodgers is being touted for other jobs. The Telegraph report that the Northern Irish manager is on a shortlist to potentially replace Roy Hodgson – another manager who was sacked by Liverpool – as England manager, should the Three Lions fail in the European Championships next summer.

Hodgson allegedly needs a run to the quarter finals at the very least in order to keep his job as England manager, and Rodgers is allegedly a target for The FA should they opt to go in a different direction.

Since the report was released, Reds fans have been reacting on Twitter to the notion of Rodgers taking charge of the England national team – and most are surprisingly supportive.

Many believe that, with no pressure in the transfer market, Rodgers would do a great job as England manager, where he can focus his talents on being more of a coach and develop players.

Here are some of the reactions from Liverpool fans after The Telegraph suggested Rodgers could become England manager in 2016
