England under-21 coach says he is concerned about Liverpool striker.

Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke trained with the England squad this week.
Solanke did not do enough to earn a senior call up on merit, and trained with the first team to gain experience, temporarily stepping up from the under-21s.
Last season Solanke was handed an England cap by manager Gareth Southgate but he faded from his plans as the season went on.
Solanke has not started a single game for Liverpool yet this season. Even more worryingly, the striker has not even made the bench.

His lack of game time has prompted concerns from England under-21 coach Aidy Boothroyd about the direction of his career.
Boothroyd was quoted by The Mirror: “I’m really pleased with Dom but I’m also a little bit worried about him because he is not getting the minutes and not getting the games.
“I am happy on the pitch picking the best players, but for the good of England and for the good of British football it would be nicer if we had more players playing, certainly better for us and for them.”

While Boothroyd’s comments are understandable from his perspective, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has other priorities.
Solanke did not shine in pre-season and has not given manager Klopp enough reason to bring him in.
Last season he scored only one goal for the Reds.
Liverpool fans are keen that Klopp sticks to his guns and only plays Solanke when he has earned it, and not due to pressure from Boothroyd.
Here is a look at how they responded to his comments…
