Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to express their annoyance after Georginio Wijnaldum limped off with an injury during the Netherlands’ World Cup qualifier with France on Monday night.
The Daily Mirror reports that the midfielder was replaced shortly after the hour-mark in Amsterdam after sustaining what appeared to be a hamstring strain.

The news will be a considerable blow to Jurgen Klopp. The Reds’ first game following the international break is a home clash with Manchester United next Monday, so he could have done with having as many of his key players available as possible.
Adam Lallana picked up an injury in Liverpool’s win over Swansea before the break, and thus, missed out on joining up with the England squad.

And while the former Newcastle man’s performances have arguably not received as many plaudits as Lallana’s, it is fair to say that he has made a positive contribution to the Merseyside club since his summer move.
Unsurprisingly therefore, Reds fans have been left largely disappointed following Wijnaldum’s early exit and have taken to social media to express that disappointment. Some have however, challenged Emre Can to step up to the plate if he is given a chance.
