Former Liverpool academy prospect Suso was the difference maker in the Milan derby.

Former Liverpool starlet Suso scored an impressive brace as AC Milan drew 2-2 with rivals Inter in the famous derby match at the San Siro.
Suso bagged an opener before firing home what had appeared to be a deciding goal with five minutes remaining to seal a memorable win, only for Inter to bag an injury time equaliser.
It was by far and away Suso’s finest match in a Milan shirt so far, and demonstration of why he was so highly rated as a teenager at Liverpool.
Suso joined Liverpool’s academy at 16, and appeared poised to break through as a first team regular after impressing in the youth ranks.

He was handed a debut under Brendan Rodgers and featured in Premier League games, but could not hold down a regular spot.
After falling out of favour he was loaned out to Spanish side Almeria for the 2013/14 season, and upon his return had to make do with League Cup appearances.
With Spanish giants AC Milan on his tail, he decided to push for a move, and left the club in January 2015.
Suso’s spell in Milan has not exactly been a tale of instant success, with changes in management not exactly helping his development.

After a loan spell at Genoa, he appears to have the trust of current boss Vincenzo Montella, and his brace last night sees Milan move into fifth in the Serie A table, a lofty position in comparison to their past few seasons.
A move away from Liverpool was necessary as regular first team chances were never going to come at Anfield, but fans rightly asked the question after last night’s display, whether they have a buy back clause, now he finally appears to be hitting the heights he always appeared destined to.
