Liverpool claimed a dramatic win over their Merseyside rivals, but the victory was not the only talking point from the game.
Liverpool fans have unsurprisingly taken to Twitter to celebrate their dramatic victory in the Merseyside derby, but Sadio Mane’s goal was not the only talking point to come out of their game with Everton.
Mane reacted first after Daniel Sturridge hit the post to score the only goal in the fourth of eight minutes added on at the end of the 90 at Goodison Park to send the away fans into a frenzy.

But once the dust settled on the contest, some of the attention turned to an ugly incident between England teammates Ross Barkley and Jordan Henderson.
Barkley was arguably fortunate to stay on the pitch and only receive a yellow card after a poor challenge on the Liverpool skipper. With Henderson’s foot almost stuck in the turf, he appeared fortunate not to sustain a more serious injury as Barkley connected with his ankle.

In the aftermath of the game, Reds fans took to social media to discuss the tackle and highlighted how the incident made the victory over the neighbours – which saw them close the gap at the top of the Premier League to just six points – all the sweeter.
