Liverpool have reportedly agreed a fee to sign the Southampton ace.

The Reds have agreed a deal to sign Saints centre-back Virgil Van Dijk for £75 million, according to the Telegraph.

Liverpool have been woefully poor defensively all season long, and their fragile back-line has arguably prevented them from mounting a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Jürgen Klopp has assembled one of the most fearsome front-lines in world football during his time in charge at Anfield, but he seems to have neglected the need to bolster his defensive ranks…until now.

The Telegraph claim that the Merseyside outfit have won the race to sign the Dutch centre-back, beating both Chelsea and Manchester City to his signature.

The former Celtic man will be a superb addition to the Liverpool squad, if he does in fact make the switch to Merseyside.

Reds fans will surely be happy with their club’s reported capture of Van Dijk, or so you would have thought.
