Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Roberto Firmino scored two goals for Brazil in their 5-0 win over Bolivia.

The ex-Hoffenheim forward’s double saw him score his first goals of the campaign, having gone five games without a goal for Liverpool this season.

However, this could be down to the fact that Jurgen Klopp prefers to use his No.9 in a ‘false nine’ position in which he starts at centre-forward, but drops deep to collect the ball.

Goal have mentioned him alongside Lionel Messi and Eden Hazard as other world-class players to have adopted such a role.

Funnily enough, Firmino’s second goal suggested that he can still find the net despite playing in this system.

The 29-year-old picked the ball up nearly on the edge of his own box, before playing it out wide and sprinting up towards goal.

He then pokes an effort goal-wards which squirmed under the keeper and in.

Interestingly, ex-Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho also found the net against Bolivia.

It was a fantastic time for Firmino to open his account for the season with Liverpool’s Merseyside derby against Everton on the horizon.

Klopp will need his centre-forward to bring his A-game as the Premier League champions look to knock their rivals off the top of the table.

Let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to Firmino’s double…
