Loris Karius is on loan at Besiktas from Premier League outfit Liverpool but is he shining in Turkey? Not exactly.

Loris Karius would have been hoping that a loan move to Besiktas would help restore his reputation away from the glaring eye of the Premier League.
Liverpool’s forgotten man will forever be tainted by his nightmare performance in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid last May, when he quite literally handed Karim Benzema a bizarre opener before fumbling Gareth Bale’s speculative long-ranger into his own net.
But it seems that life isn’t any easier in Turkey. Karius was jeered by his own supporters are letting a simple shot squirm under his body in Sunday’s 3-2 win against Konyaspor and Besiktas manager Senol Gunes hardly backed the German to the media afterwards.
“He was at fault for the goals he conceded,” Gunes said in quotes reported by Sky Sports.

“Karius has gone a bit stagnant, something is wrong with his motivation, enthusiasm for the game.
“It has been like that since the beginning. Let me put it this way, if I still had (back-up goalkeeper) Tolga available I would play him.”
A 2016 signing from Bundesliga outfit Mainz, the Liverpool Echo reported in August last year that Besiktas would be obliged to sign Karius permanently for £9.5 million if certain criteria are met. But it seems very unlikely that they would be keen to keep the struggling shot-stopper as it stands.
And with Alisson Becker finally solving Liverpool’s goalkeeping woes, it would be a surprise if he ever played under Jurgen Klopp again either.
