Liverpool fans have been comparing their capture of Xherdan Shaqiri to Everton’s imminent signing of Richarlison.

SkySports report Everton are set to pay a staggering £50 million fee for the Brazilian, who is due to undergo a medical later today.

The fee appears excessive for the winger, who struggled in the second half of the season.

At Everton he will rejoin Marco Silva, under who he flourished at Watford.

Liverpool by contrast paid just £13.5 million for Shaqiri, who finished last season with a better record, scoring more goals and providing more assists.

Reds fans now believe that Richarlison’s value makes their move look even better.

HITC Sport reported back in January how Liverpool fans were hopeful they might sign Richarlison.

Their latest comments do not suggest that Richarlison is a rubbish player, but that he is simply not worth £50 million… and if he is, the Reds got a real steal with Shaqiri.

Shaqiri is more experienced, playing at and scoring at two World Cups so far in his career.

Richarlison is just 21-years-old, but it is difficult to tell whether he will ever be destined for international greatness.

Everton will hope for the price they paid that he does.
