Liverpool are out of the Champions League after drawing 0-0 with Real Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Reds lost the first leg in Spain 3-1, and needed a famous Anfield turnaround to make it into the semi-finals.
Liverpool pressed and pressed but couldn’t find the goals they needed, with many chances going begging through Mohamed Salah and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Jurgen Klopp’s men just left themselves with too much to do after the first leg, but there were some positives to take from the performance.
Defender Nathaniel Phillips was exceptional once again, turning in a superb performance to help keep a clean sheet.
Phillips wasn’t really in Klopp’s plans before this season, and he could have left the club in October, but is now a fixture of the Liverpool side.

Phillips has earned huge praise from fans on Twitter, who have called him ‘the real deal’ and ‘so much better than Joe Gomez’.
Others think Phillips was ‘unreal’ against Real Madrid and is simply improving game by game, with some hoping that he is a part of the Liverpool setup next season as a result of his performances.
