Liverpool fans were crying out for Divock Origi on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp put his faith in Dominic Solanke to spearhead Liverpool’s forward line in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton but it was a decision which never really looked like paying off.
The German manager chose the 20-year-old – yet to score in nine Premier League games this season – ahead of Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino up front but the young striker didn’t have the impact that he would’ve liked.
Solanke’s arrival ultimately offset Divock Origi’s loan to Wolfsburg in the summer, with the 22-year-old netting four times in 11 Bundesliga starts.

And Liverpool fans believe a player of Origi’s qualities would have been far more useful against Everton than Solanke, Ings or Firmino.

Origi might look better than he is as a result of Solanke’s struggles, but the reality is that he only managed 21 goals in 86 games for Liverpool and loaning him out last summer was not considered a major error.
Still, it’s obvious that Klopp needs a top-notch striker – and perhaps a few defenders – in January because if Solanke is the real deal, it’ll be a while before he starts banging in the goals.
