Many Liverpool fans on Twitter are slating Joel Matip.

Liverpool beat Burnley 4-2 at Anfield this afternoon and it was anything but a walk in the park for the Reds, who moved back to within a point of Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Ashley Westwood fired the Clarets ahead inside six minutes on Merseyside after Matip needlessly conceded a corner.

And quite a lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter are suggesting that manager Jurgen Klopp get rid of him this summer.

Liverpool rallied and Klopp’s side led at the half-hour mark after responses from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, before the Brazilian made it 3-1 on 67 minutes.

Johann Gudmundsson set up a nervy finale by reducing the arrears in stoppage time, but Mane also grabbed a second afterwards.
