Tottenham Hotspur were the first Premier League team to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League this season thanks to their 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund completing a 4-0 aggregate win in the last 16 on Tuesday night.

The following day, Manchester United completed a remarkable comeback when they overturned a 2-0 deficit against Paris Saint-Germain to run out 3-1 winners on the night at the Parc des Princes, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s late penalty, to advance on away goals after a 3-3 aggregate scoreline.

Next week, Manchester City and Liverpool will see out their last-16 ties against Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich respectively, the Citizens hosting their opponents while 3-2 up, and the Reds currently 0-0 ahead of their trip to Bavaria.

With the possibility of all four Premier League teams in the hat for the quarter-finals, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke ahead of this weekend’s league meeting with Southampton and said he wanted to see Man City and Liverpool progress too.
