The Premier League duo produced two of the greatest displays seen in Europe when they came from behind to beat Barcelona and Ajax, respectively.
The Reds overturned Barca’s three-goal deficit on Tuesday night at Anfield, with Divock Origi and Gini Wijnaldum the goalscorers.
After watching such a stunning display form their fellow English side, Mauricio Pochettino’s side took inspiration from that performance and produced their own miracle fightback.
Despite being 3-0 down on aggregate with less than 45 minutes left on the clock, Lucas Moura hit a stunning hat-trick against Ajax, including a 96th-minute winner to send Spurs through.
It now sets up a finale between Liverpool and Tottenham in Madrid at the start of next month. The last time two English sides met in a European final, Manchester United beat Chelsea on penalties in 2008.

The drama doesn’t end there for Liverpool because they could still yet win the Premier League title on Sunday if Manchester City slip-up at Brighton – the Reds are at home to Wolves.
