Liverpool fans have not held back in mocking Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after the Toffees’ defeat.
A number of Liverpool fans have torn into Jordan Pickford after the goalkeeper dropped something of a clanger during Everton’s defeat to West Ham, just a week after commenting on Alisson’s recent mistake for Liverpool.
Pickford piled a load of pressure on himself when he made comments during the international break, which were reported by the Daily Mail, where he suggested that he would not take a gamble like the one that the Brazilian took during the Reds’ victory over Leicester City.
Alisson attempted to dribble past Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho inside his own box but managed to give the ball away, and that led directly to a Foxes goal.
Pickford would have had his card marked by Liverpool fans after his comments, and the Anfield faithful have quickly been given a reason to remind the England international of his remarks.
The stopper’s poor pass during the Toffees’ 3-1 home defeat to the Hammers led to Andriy Yarmolenko’s second goal. Pickford had so much time to pick out a pass, but seemingly tried to be too cute and the ball was cut out quite easily by Mark Noble before Yarmolenko curled a wonderful effort into the back of the net.
And unfortunately for Pickford, several Liverpool fans have needed no additional encouragement to mock the Everton star on social media, especially with the mistake coming so soon after the comments were made about the Reds goalkeeper.
