Liverpool supporters have been left feeling very confident about their side’s chances of reaching the semi-final of the EFL Cup after they were drawn against Leeds United in the last eight of the competition.

Both sides booked their place in the quarter-final on Tuesday night. While Jurgen Klopp’s men overcame Premier League rivals Tottenham, Leeds needed a penalty shootout to get the better of Championship high-flyers Norwich City at Elland Road.

With United yet to face a top flight team in this year’s competition, and being the lowest ranked side in the last eight, it is hardly surprising that Reds fans are confident about their chances, especially after they became the first team to beat Spurs in a domestic contest this season.

Given those factors, Liverpool will undoubtedly be heavy favourites to take another step towards emulating their performance in the competition from last season – where they reached the final – and perhaps, going one better by winning the first trophy of the Klopp-era.

And while the Liverpool boss will be urging his players to not take Leeds lightly, many of the fans that have taken to social media have suggested that they are expecting to breeze through to the next round with a big win, while others have claimed that Klopp can get away with playing a handful of youngsters against Garry Monk’s men.
