Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan featured as the under-23s slipped to defeat.

It is fair to say Adam Bogdan has outstayed his welcome at Liverpool but he remains under contract to the club until 2019.
He is the club’s fourth choice goalkeeper behind Loris Karius, Simon Mignolet, and Danny Ward. Arguably he should be behind prospect Kamil Grabara too.
Last night Bogdan featured for the under-23s, and was in goal as they were knocked out of the Premier League Cup by Middlesbrough, losing 3-1.
It was vintage Bogdan, with the goalkeeper anything but a rock solid presence.
Bogdan is 30-years-old and was featuring as one of the overage players for the Reds, with Nathaniel Clyne also starting last night’s match as he works his way back from injury.
When Bogdan was signed for the club it was very much a surprise, one of the last signings made by Brendan Rodgers months before he was fired.
His performance away at Watford in a 3-0 loss lives long in the memory for the wrong reasons and last night showed his frailties still remain.

Liverpool fans are perplexed at why he remains at the club, although his high wages likely have something to do with it in comparison to the money available to his potential suitors.
Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to his performance…
