The Stoke City maestro has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

Xherdan Shaqiri is allegedly looking to procure a move away from the relegated Stoke City this summer, and Liverpool are the latest club to show an interest in the former-Bayern Munich forward, according to reports from the Express.

The Switzerland international has a £12 million buy-out clause in his current contract with the Potters, and is wanted by his recently departed manager Mark Hughes at Southampton, and also by Mauricio Pochettino, as he looks to bolster his attacking options at Tottenham this summer (the Sun).

However, the Reds have emerged as favourites to land the 26-year-old’s signature, and fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the potential move.

The reaction is a mixed bag, with some fans feeling the forward will add quality depth to the team, while others are questioning his work ethic and attitude.

There are also question marks over whether he would be content playing a bit-part role at Anfield, having been selected as a regular since joining the Premier League with Stoke.

Whether or not the move goes through, Jurgen Klopp will persist with trying to bolster his attacking options this summer, after securing the signings of Naby Keita and Fabinho early on.
