Liverpool’s James Milner is out of contract at Anfield next summer.

A lot of Liverpool fans on Twitter are calling on James Milner to be offered a new deal.
The 33-year-old star revealed on Sunday that he hadn’t yet been approached about a contract extension, with his existing deal expiring next summer.
Milner, who joined Liverpool on a Bosman from Manchester City four years ago, has been an inspired signing for the Anfield club and played his part in helping Jurgen Klopp’s side win the Champions League in May.
Klopp is a huge fan of the former Leeds academy gem and revealed via The Telegraph that he’s training like a man in his 20s.
He said: “Millie looks again in the pre-season like (he’s in) in his early 20s; but he isn’t, he knows that, and we try to respect that.”
And Liverpool fans are desperate to see Director of Football Michael Edwards keep him on Merseyside.
Liverpool can’t be giving out new contracts on sentiment. It has to be because Milner offers genuine value to the team and although that has certainly been the case in recent years, how much longer can he be a force?
By next summer he will be 34 and like it or not, he will decline sooner or later.
Milner has been a magnificent servant to the Reds, but there are definitely pros and cons to weigh up. It isn’t a no-brainer.
