Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday night.

Liverpool’s Champions League dream ended in the final on Saturday night, as they were beaten 3-1 by Real Madrid in Kiev.
Having seen off Porto, Manchester City and Roma in the knockout rounds, Liverpool headed to Ukraine hopeful of dethroning Real Madrid, who had won the last two Champions League finals.
Their hopes were dealt a blow in the first half as talisman Mohamed Salah was substituted with a shoulder injury, and goalkeeper Loris Karius then committed a costly error, throwing the ball out only to see Karim Benzema intercept and score.

Sadio Mane equalised for the Reds from close range, but a stunning Gareth Bale overhead kick was followed up by another comical error from Karius, this time fumbling Bale’s long-range shot into the net for 3-1.
Liverpool ultimately came up short against the Spanish giants, but much of the conversation surrounded Karius and his mistakes, with many fans simply tired of the German’s error-prone nature.
Karius has managed to cement himself as Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice goalkeeper in 2018, and whilst he has improved since the turn of the year, Saturday’s nightmare showing could force Liverpool back into the transfer market for another goalkeeper.

Roma’s Alisson has been strongly linked with the Reds, as Sky Sports recently claimed talks have taken place over a £62million deal for the Brazilian shot-stopper ahead of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter after Karius’ mistakes to demand a deal for Alisson is done sooner rather than later, urging the club to pay whatever it takes to sign him and solve a major problem in Klopp’s side before next season begins.
