The popular Liverpool defender has upset quite a few fans with his performance, even if it was a friendly.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is taking a bit of stick from Liverpool fans on Twitter.

The European champions were thumped 3-0 by Napoli at Murrayfield on Sunday afternoon.

All three goals came down the Liverpool right-back’s side, including the second one which occurred after he conceded possession.

The 20-year-old sent a brief five-word tweet on social media after the game, thanking the city of Edinburgh.

And it’s fair to say that Liverpool fans weren’t all that kind in their responses to him.

It must be stated that it’s still pre-season for Jurgen Klopp’s side and despite the result, no supporter of the Anfield club will be all that worried yet.

Had they won 3-0 instead of lost 3-0, no Liverpool fan would be reading too much into it, hence why it makes little sense to overreact to a defeat.

Next Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City, the Premier League champions, will offer a better gauge of where the German’s team are just now.
