Raul Meireles scored for Chelsea in the Champions League last night. Liverpool supporters are still unhappy he was allowed to leave.
Voted PFA Fans Player of the Year last season, Raul Meireles was a crowd favourite at Liverpool- Roy Hodgson’s only successful signing.
When he was sold to Chelsea for £11 million on transfer deadline day in August, supporters were unsure of the wisdom behind his sale.
The fact his replacements have failed not so much to set Anfield alight with their performances but to barely ignite a spark has placed further scrutiny on the decision.
Watching the Portuguese midfielder fire Chelsea into the Champions league semi-finals last night was too much for some supporters to bear.
