Liverpool ace Lucas Leiva was honoured at the club’s end of season award ceremony last night.
The Brazilian was presented with a ‘Special Recognition Award’ by Reds legend Kenny Dalglish, in respect of his 10 years service to the club.
This week marks a decade since he signed for Liverpool from Gremio under Rafa Benitez.
His spell at Liverpool has seen highs and lows, recovering after a difficult start to win over the doubters and establish himself as a terrific defensive midfielder.
Injuries prevented him from really being considered one of the best of his era.

Lucas’ talent has helped him get a second wind at Anfield as a centre-back, where he has surpassed expectations at times.
The 30-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and his future remains unclear.

He sent a message out on Instagram after receiving the award, which some fans were worried could be a goodbye message.
He wrote: “I would like to thank LFC for this award. It is been a incredible journey with so many highs and lows but it was all worth to achieve this milestone.
“Liverpool will always be special for me and I am grateful for all the support I have received through these years.
“Receiving this award by Kenny it made even more special. #wearereds #ynwa“
Lucas is not looking like being a first choice player next season should he stay at Anfield, but he is a popular figure and many want him to stick around and be a part of the club’s future.
Here is a look at how fans reached out to him to plead with him to stay.
