Are Premier League runners-up Liverpool set to break another world record by signing Kalidou Koulibaly from Serie A giants Napoli?

How do you improve a team who accumulated 97 points in the Premier League before being crowned as the Kings of all European football? Well, signing arguably the greatest centre-half in the world wouldn’t be a bad place to start.
Some 18 months after making Virgil van Dijk the most expensive defender in football history, Il Mattino believes that Liverpool could repeat the trick with Napoli’s £100 million-rated talisman Kalidou Koulibaly.
Apparently, Liverpool have contacted the 27-year-old’s agent, Fali Ramadani, with an eye-watering deal deemed to be ‘not impossible’.

Now, Jurgen Klopp’s side conceded just 22 goals in 38 Premier League games last season, a tally better than any other side in the English top flight. Their watertight backline laughs in the face of those of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Manchester United.
But Koulibaly is one of the few players anywhere in Europe who is capable of strolling into Liverpool’s starting XI without breaking sweat.
And with Liverpool hoping to ensure a fabulous season is not merely a ‘one off’, making Koulibaly the world’s costliest stopper would represent a massive statement of intent. No wonder the fans are foaming at the mouth.

Want this so badly to be true. Really doubt it could ever happen tho
