Manchester United lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Manchester City won their game in hand on Wednesday night, beating bitter rivals Manchester United 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
City and Liverpool have been engaged in a stunning fight for the Premier League title, with both teams racking up win after win after win, with the lead at the top of the table changing hands at a frantic pace.
City have held a game in hand over Liverpool for some time, and that arrived on Wednesday night as they made the short trip across Manchester to take on United at Old Trafford.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United showed real fight in the first half, but City came out fighting in the second period, and ultimately claimed the win after introducing Leroy Sane.
Bernardo Silva beat David De Gea at his near post to give City a 1-0 lead, before Sane added a second on the break, securing a comfortable 2-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s side.
United did have a golden chance to equalise at 1-0 though, as Jesse Lingard was just yards out with the goal at his mercy, but completely mis-kicked the ball, and the chance was gone.

Liverpool fans were watching the game closely as they looked for a City slip-up – and turned on England international Lingard after he fluffed his opportunity in front of goal.
Fans called Lingard ‘awful’ and a ‘fraud’ for his miss, with some even accusing Lingard of missing on purpose in order to stop Liverpool from winning the title – something that City fans will no doubt chuckle at.
