The £89m Red Devils midfielder missed a sitter against Valencia, and some fans of the Reds – plus a former player – made their feelings known.

This Sunday brings one of the biggest fixtures in English – nay, world – football as Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield.
The two most successful and trophy-laden clubs in England will lock horns as both sets of fans will seek bragging rights over their fiercest rivals.
For many years, Man United were on top, but the balance of power appears to have shifted, with the Reds now flying high in the Premier League and through to the last 16 of the Champions League.
Jose Mourinho’s side are lagging behind in the league and, although they did make the last 16 in Europe’s top club competition, they did so with a whimper by suffering a 2-1 defeat at Valencia in their final match.
During Wednesday night’s game at the Mestalla, record club signing Paul Pogba was guilty of missing a gilt-edged chance to draw his side level:
Following the game, former Reds striker Craig Bellamy suggested that Mourinho should consider leaving the midfielder out for the big derby on Sunday.
“If you’re Mourinho, after Pogba’s performance today, it will be very difficult to say he has to play, he has to leave him out again,” the Welshman told Sky Sports News.
Some Liverpool fans following the game made their feelings known about Pogba’s miss on Twitter – one alluding to Sadio Mane’s miss against Napoli:
