Jamie Carragher has mischievously said on The Overlap that he would love to see how the Everton fans react if Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take the lead at Goodison Park in the first Merseyside derby and the Reds’ supporters chant Rafael Benitez’s name.

Everton will take on Liverpool at Goodison Park in the first Merseyside derby of the season on November 30.

It promises to be a very interesting and intriguing game of Premier League football.

Benitez is a former Liverpool manager who won the Champions League with the Reds.

The Spaniard was controversially appointed as the manager of Merseyside rivals Everton earlier this summer.

Former Liverpool star Carragher has said that he would love to see what happens if the Reds’ supporters chant Benitez’s name at Goodison Park after Klopp’s side go 1-0 or 2-0 up.

Carragher said on The Overlap: “My dream scenario – the first derby is at Goodison, isn’t it? – is for Liverpool to go 1-0 up at Goodison, 2-0 up, and the Liverpool fans start chanting Rafa Benitez’s name, and I would watch the reaction in that stadium.”

Fascinating

Benitez was brilliant at Liverpool, and it will be very interesting to see how he gets on at Everton.

Liverpool and Everton are Merseyside rivals, and it is very controversial of the Spaniard to cross the divide.

Benitez will be under pressure to win over the Goodison Park faithful.

The former Real Madrid boss is unlikely to play exciting and entertaining football.

However, the Spaniard could get some love from the fans if his team win games and challenge for the European places in the Premier League table.
