Liverpool want to sign Enzo Fernandez and the Benfica midfielder’s agent is now travelling to speak to clubs around Europe about a deal.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has been speaking on YouTube about Fernandez’s future.
Romano claims that Benfica simply will not sell Fernandez for anything less than his €120million (£106million) release clause.
That’s a staggering amount to pay but Benfica are standing firm and won’t offer any kind of discount on their star midfielder.
Romano adds that Fernandez’s agent is now heading to Europe to discuss a potential move with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid all interested.
“With Benfica, the situation is pretty clear – the player will only leave in one case; if one club will trigger the €120million clause, so Benfica will not accept less than this,” said Romano. “It’s true that his agent is coming to Europe to discuss with clubs. The Premier League is the most likely destination for Enzo.”
“One important point; I’m told it has to be something fast, otherwise Benfica sell Enzo in the final days in the window,” he added.
Liverpool have already pulled off a heist for a Manchester United target, landing Cody Gakpo in a lightning quick deal ahead of January.
There are rampant rumours about a move for Fernandez too.
O Jogo reported on Tuesday morning that Liverpool and United have both intensified their contacts to try and sign Fernandez.
With Fernandez’s agent now heading for Europe, Liverpool may be looking to make it a double January arrival with Fernandez joining Gakpo.

Agent may sense right time to move as Liverpool target Enzo Fernandez deal
Fernandez’s main agent is Uriel Perez and he may well sense that this is the time to strike for an enormous move.
Fernandez only joined Benfica from River Plate over the summer but has made an enormous impact.
The 21-year-old has bagged three goals and five assists in 24 Benfica games but his big breakout came with Argentina.
Fernandez was outstanding after forcing his way into the Argentina team at the World Cup, ending the tournament as a champion and as the winner of the Best Young Player award.
The midfielder’s stock has never been higher and Perez may well push for a move.
It just feels a little unlikely that Liverpool will go and splash £106million on Fernandez in January.
That would essentially rule them out of the Jude Bellingham race in the summer and an outlay of that level after signing Gakpo would be a stunner.
Still, Fernandez is a huge talent and Liverpool may feel that it’s now or never, making him a key name to keep an eye on in January.
