Liverpool central defender Ibrahima Konate has said on Premier League’s YouTube channel that he is a big fan of Manchester United  midfielder Paul Pogba.

Konate has said that he loves France international midfielder Pogba and has raved about his technique.

Both Konate, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2021, and Pogba are French.

The 22-year-old made the comments about the Manchester United star while naming him in his idea five-a-side FIFA team:

Konate said about Pogba on Premier League’s YouTube channel: “Pogba. I spoke a lot of with him sometime last year and before. I love this player. When I was younger, I loved this player. He is very good, very technique and very peace with the ball.”

Encouraging to see Konate praise Pogba

We know that Liverpool and Manchester United are bitter rivals.

Both are massive clubs and have a huge global fanbase.

However, in our opinion, it is very encouraging to see Konate publicly praise Pogba.

It shows the respect that the Liverpool defender has for the 28-year-old, who cost United £89 million in transfer fees (BBC Sport).

Pogba has not always been at his best and is often criticised by pundits such as Greme Souness.

But, in our view, Pogba is a world-class footballer.

A defender like Konate admires the Frenchman.

That shows just how highly Pogba is rated among fellow professionals.
