Liverpool want Datro Fofana and he has ended the season as Molde’s top goalscorer in a title-winning campaign over in Norway.

The Reds placed a keen focus on signing young talent over the summer transfer window.

Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho were exciting signings whilst Ben Doak and Trent Kone-Doherty arrived further down the ranks.

Liverpool would no doubt love to have a number of young players to develop into stars over the coming years and appear to have another talent on their radar.

Liverpool want Datro Fofana

Reports from Fratmat in the Ivory Coast last week suggested that Liverpool are interested in Molde attacker Datro Fofana.

It was suggested that Liverpool are looking for another striker to support Darwin Nunez and Fofana is on their wish list.

A deal of up to €7million (£6million) was mentioned with Liverpool allegedly hoping to beat a number of other clubs to Fofana’s signature.

Fofana, 19, looks to be another exciting striker to come through the Molde ranks after Erling Haaland.

The Ivorian bizarrely has just one cap for his country and it came in 2019 at the age of just 16.

Now shining in Norway, Fofana has ended the season with Molde in style.

Sunday’s 2-1 in over Valerenga brought the curtain down on the 2022 Eliteserien campaign with Molde claiming the title thanks to a huge 18-point gap over second-placed Bodo/Glimt.

Fofana scored the winner from the penalty spot in that game against Valerenga to secure another three points.

Fofana finishes the league campaign with 15 goals in just 24 games, whilst in all competitions he bagged 22 goals in 39 outings.

That leaves the Ivorian as Molde’s top league and total goalscorer for this season alongside winning the league title.

That’s a pretty dream end to the season for Fofana and 2023 could start in style for him if Liverpool secure his signature.
