The Daily Mail now claim that an £85million deal for Nunez to join Liverpool is imminent.
The deal will see Liverpool pay £64million for Nunez up front with another £21.3million coming in add-ons.
Nunez is signing a six-year deal with Liverpool, tying him to the Reds until 2028.
Some may wonder just how much Nunez will earn at Anfield and it’s now claimed that his wages will be around £120,000-a-week.
Spotrac note that Joel Matip earns around £100,000-a-week, Diogo Jota around £90,000-a-week and Ibrahima Konate around £70,000-a-week.
Nunez will go straight in and earn more than all three players in a clear sign of Liverpool’s faith in the Uruguayan.
Nunez, 22, racked up 34 goals and four assists in 41 outings for Benfica last season.
A physical yet very mobile striker, Nunez brings something totally different to Liverpool’s attack and isn’t particularly similar to Mane.
Virgil van Dijk has compared Nunez to Erling Haaland and that is hugely exciting for Liverpool as they look to keep pace with Manchester City.
