Darwin Nunez impressed for Liverpool against Arsenal and has earned praise from pundit Danny Murphy despite the Reds’ 3-2 defeat.
Liverpool headed down to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon with Jurgen Klopp desperate for a positive result.
Liverpool fell behind almost immediately though as Gabriel Martinelli slotted past Alisson.
Nunez gave Liverpool hope only for Bukayo Saka to put Arsenal back ahead, with Roberto Firmino then firing Liverpool level again.
Saka won it from the penalty spot though as Liverpool couldn’t muster a third equaliser.

Darwin Nunez impressed for Liverpool
This was another disappointing afternoon for Liverpool fans who are growing all too accustomed to underwhelming results and performances this season.
The Reds just can’t seem to get going and even Champions League wins over Ajax and Rangers haven’t helped the domestic cause.
Too many players seem off the pace and it’s hard to find shining lights in these displays.
One did emerge on Sunday though with striker Nunez turning in arguably his best performance for Liverpool so far.
The summer signing from Benfica has come in for huge criticism since being snapped up as the apparent replacement for Sadio Mane.
Nunez had only scored one Premier League goal before Sunday and his red card against Crystal Palace didn’t exactly leave a great impression.
Yet the game against Arsenal showed all of Nunez’s great qualities; his pace, movement, physicality, work rate and penalty box poaching ability.
This is what Liverpool need from Nunez and the hope is that Sunday’s display can be a real springboard for him moving forward.
Pundit Danny Murphy has now hailed Nunez, telling Match of the Day 2 that he felt the striker was the one real positive for Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium.
Murphy added that Nunez was ‘very, very good’ in the Liverpool attack and this praise is certainly merited.
“He was good today by the way,” said Murphy. “He was the positive for Liverpool, Nunez was very, very good today,” he added.
