Jose Enrique has suggested that Liverpool should consider dropping Cody Gakpo from the starting lineup this weekend.
Gakpo joined the Reds in a £37 million deal earlier this month and enjoyed a decent debut against Wolves in the FA Cup last week.
With Roberto Firmino missing since the World Cup ended more or less, and Jurgen Klopp already without Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, Liverpool aren’t flush with attacking options.
Klopp might’ve preferred to ease the Netherlands international into regular football gradually.
But if Firmino is available for the Seagulls, Enrique has called on the German manager to drop Gakpo to the bench on Saturday.

Here’s what he wrote on Instagram:
Honestly, this could happen but again, it sort of depends on Firmino.
If the Brazil international is available to make his comeback in Liverpool’s starting lineup, then dropping Gakpo makes complete sense.
And it wouldn’t be a criticism; it would be merely to allow him to adapt to life in the Premier League.
Remember, he has faced a Premier League opponent, but he hasn’t played in this competition yet and although he’ll probably be an inspired signing, an adjustment period is still necessary.
