Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on midfielder Curtis Jones – despite him having a problem with his stomach before facing Porto.
The Reds were superb in Portugal, racking up a 3-0 lead with a Mohamed Salah brace and a goal from Sadio Mane.
Mehdi Taremi pulled one back for Porto, but Roberto Firmino came off the bench to bag a brace and seal a 5-1 win.
Curtis Jones steals the show for Liverpool
Liverpool midfielder Jones scored a superb goal against Brentford at the weekend and excelled again on Tuesday.
Jones had a shot saved to create Salah’s opener, before then picking out Salah for his second.
Jones then found Firmino for his first goal, and Firmino bagged his second from a deflected Jones strike.
The 20-year-old may claim four assists from that game, continuing his excellent form and rapid progression under Klopp.

Klopp comments on Jones
Liverpool boss Klopp has now told the club’s official website that he though Jones was ‘top class’ in Liverpool’s midfield.
Klopp even claims that Liverpool’s medical staff told him to ‘keep an eye’ on Jones because of a stomach issue before the game.
Klopp joked that he hopes Jones keeps that stomach bug because he was just so good last night, urging him to ‘keep going’ with his fine displays.
“Curtis played a good game. He had some problems a little bit with the stomach before the game; they told me I need to keep an eye on him but I told him after the game whatever it is, keep it because it was really a good game,” said Klopp.
“He played a really good game, he was everywhere, he was involved in everything. Set up the first goal with a surprising finish, goalie cannot save it. In a lot of other situations he was really there – maybe not as spectacular as the offensive stuff, but defensively he played a top-class game. He defended really well, pressed from the blind side, a lot of things I liked a lot about his performance tonight. So, let’s keep going, Curtis, it was not bad tonight,” he added.
