Liverpool had a great day on Sunday as they beat Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford, but Trevor Sinclair thinks Curtis Jones needed more protection.
The Reds were 4-0 up by half time as Naby Keita, Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah all found the net, with Salah later bagging his hat-trick.
This was a dream day for Liverpool fans, only made sweeter by United ending the game with 10 men as frustration boiled over for Paul Pogba.
Cristiano Ronaldo was lucky not to be sent off too having been involved in a clash with Curtis Jones.
As Jones shepherded the ball out of play, Ronaldo took Jones to the ground and kicked the ball straight into the Liverpool man not once but twice.
Ronaldo picked up a yellow card for that incident, but some felt his petulant kick out was deserving of a red.
Sinclair criticises Liverpool players in Jones incident
Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson were straight over to push and shove United players – but pundit Trevor Sinclair still wasn’t impressed.
Sinclair’s Manchester City leanings may have played a part here, as he took to Twitter to claim he was disappointed with Liverpool players.

Ibrahima Konate, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jordan Henderson also made their feelings clear to Ronaldo as his anger came to the fore.
What more could Liverpool players have really done? Senior players were straight in to defend their young player and diffuse the situation.
Would it have really served Liverpool well if somebody went over and raised their hands to Ronaldo?
They were wise to get over, protect their teammate and not get themselves in any trouble – no matter what Sinclair may say.
