Okay so the Cody Gakpo to Liverpool speculation is starting to feel very real indeed.
Earlier today, as covered by HITC Sport, a Dutch television presenter revealed to ESPN that ‘Gakpo is gone’ and claimed that a transfer to the Premier League was a formality, more or less.
He didn’t state that signing for Liverpool was inevitable, but he did remark on Pep Lijnders’ fondness for the Netherlands international and how he is ‘chasing’ Jurgen Klopp now.
Yep, joining the Anfield outfit is looking very possible and if it happens, Klopp’s side will win the whole January transfer window.
January is a difficult month to do business in and it’s just quite hard to see anyone in the Premier League topping Liverpool’s deal to sign Gakpo, if it happens.

This is a rising star and one with 30 goal involvements for PSV Eindhoven this season – and he’s one to watch at the World Cup, having scored in his first two games in the competition.
Better yet, the Reds could get him for as little as £43 million [ED].
That’s a lot of money but, at the same time, it could be considered an absolute snip if Klopp takes Gakpo to the next level, as he did with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to name but a few.
It’s been a difficult season for Liverpool, but they could be the envy of Europe if they get this one over the line in January.
