Dean Jones has claimed Jude Bellingham could be offered the chance to become a future Liverpool captain, a tactic which could prove useful in trying to tempt him into a move.

Christian Falk, in conversation with The Anfield Wrap had stated that Bellingham believes he could become a real leader at Anfield.

One trait about the £130 million-rated midfielder (The Times) that enamours both fans and pundits alike is his natural leadership ability.

Despite being just 19 years of age, Jude Bellingham has already captained one of Europe’s biggest clubs in Borussia Dortmund.

The £49,000-a-week star has generated headlines for all the right reasons by willing his team on as a leader must in post-match interviews.

On the pitch as well, the 19-year-old is often caught by cameras barking orders at his teammates and demanding them to fight till the end to get the all-important three points.

Clearly, the England international was born to be a leader of men.

Dean Jones has suggested that Jude Bellingham could be handed the chance to become a future Liverpool captain.

Jurgen Klopp’s side could use this promise to their benefit in order to ensure the youngster joins the club in the summer.

“I think one of the biggest selling points will be that he could become a future captain of Liverpool. I think that is a big carrot to dangle in front of him.”

“Then, it’s up to Bellingham and his family to weigh up exactly what is the best next step for him”, he told GiveMeSport.

The Reds have an advantage over rival suitors due to lack of heated competition for the captain’s armband

Football Transfers revealed that Real Madrid, who are also interested in Liverpool target Jude Bellingham have a four-man captain list including legends such as Karim Benzema, Nacho Fernandez, Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal.

As for Manchester City, their captains also include big names such as Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne, Ruben Dias, Kyle Walker and Rodri (relayed by Tom Young).

At Anfield the competition for the armband is not as heated, with the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson and Andy Robertson being a part of the leadership group behind Virgil van Dijk, James Milner and Jordan Henderson (via This Is Anfield).

Keeping that in mind, Jude Bellingham could well be tempted by becoming a future Liverpool captain whilst deciding his next move.
