Liverpool could reportedly sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in a straight-swap deal this summer – a player Andrea Pirlo described as a “complete player” in 2020, claiming his qualities are “rarely seen”.
Reports last week said that 27-year-old Rabiot is keen on joining a Premier League club that have qualified for the Champions League. That of course includes Liverpool, along with Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester City.
The France international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Juventus and it looks unlikely the £15million man will get a new deal. Now, Italian outlet CMW have delivered an update regarding Rabiot, and Liverpool.

The report says that Liverpool are willing to include Naby Keita in a swap deal for the £116k-a-week star (CMW). Liverpool would be getting a player Pirlo said is “complete”, a midfielder that is “rarely seen” in terms of his ability.
“A complete player, I have rarely seen someone so strong both physically and technically,” Pirlo told Sky Sports – as per Goal. “He doesn’t even know the potential for improvement. He is a Champion, he is improving game after game.”
Liverpool could sign Rabiot: Pirlo described him as a ‘complete player’
The only criticism of Liverpool signing Rabiot is whether they actually need a holding midfielder. Fabinho is one of the world’s best in that role, and they do have cover in the form of Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Tyler Morton.
However, Henderson is now 32 and will know he will not start every game. When he does, it is normally in front of Fabinho. Milner is a squad player and has only been kept to provide cover. Morton remains a rookie.
So while there is cover, it is some way off Fabinho. Rabiot would help bridge the gap, especially given Liverpool will once again be fighting for another quadruple. Whether he is happy to warm the bench remains to be seen.
