According to The Athletic, Liverpool are interested in Markus Krosche as their new Sporting Director as they gear up for the departure of Julian Ward.

The potential arrival of Markus Krosche at Liverpool as the club’s new Sporting Director would be exciting, and it could be a huge boost in their pursuit of Daichi Kamada.

The Japanese attacking midfielder has been linked to the Reds in recent weeks, and this move could give the Merseyside club an edge in the race for the ‘great’ midfielder amid links to Tottenham.

Krosche, who is currently working alongside Kamada in Frankfurt, has an excellent track record when it comes to identifying and signing young talent. During his time at RB Leipzig, Krosche brought in players like Timo Werner and Dayot Upamecano, while he’s also helped Frankfurt become Europa League champions.

Kamada, who is just 26 years old, is the kind of player who would fit right in with Liverpool’s attacking style of play. He is a dynamic player who is comfortable on the ball and has an eye for goal, having scored 13 goals and provided four assists in all competitions for Frankfurt this season.

Liverpool have been lacking in creativity this season, with the likes of Thiago and Trent Alexander-Arnold struggling to make any sort of impact, and while they would have to adjust their system to get Kamada involved in that central trio, Klopp’s midfield does need a serious reshuffle.

Krosche knows Kamada well, and his arrival at Liverpool could be a catalyst for a move to Anfield for the Frankfurt star.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not Krosche does actually end up coming to Liverpool. The Reds don’t seem to have their ducks in a row right now, and an appointment does still seem to be some way off.

One thing is for sure, if Liverpool do bring Krosche and Kamada in, the fanbase will have plenty to look forward to next season.
